The Haas Financial Aid Office administers approximately $15 million in private loan funds, $15 million in Federal Loan funds, and $35 million in institutional scholarships.

The Director of Financial Aid works closely with the UC Berkeley Financial Aid and Scholarships Office in the design, planning, and administration of financial aid programs and the delivery of financial services to students enrolled in the Haas School of Business degree programs.

Application Review DateThe First Review Date for this job is : August 22, 2024.Responsibilities Provides individual counseling on and recommends resolution of complex issues.

Exercises professional judgment to authorize exceptions to policies, changes in financial aid awards or additional funding.

Performs needs analysis, assesses eligibility, and exercises professional judgment to determine allocation of aid awards.

Actively contributes to a team environment that fosters and promotes a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging (DEIJB).

Co-chairs department committees or provides advanced expertise to plan and coordinate policy and procedure changes.Develops new, or makes changes to existing, financial aid forms and work-flow routing.

Coordinates, implements, evaluates, and reports on complex aid programs.Works with internal and external organizations to develop program policies and coordinate procedures.

Serves as expert resource on specialized programs and related regulations and policies.Provides training on programs to department staff.

Supervises staff of two to three people.Manages yield and retention activities for targeted student groups.Determines goals and objectives.

Recommends new or changes to existing program policies.Identifies and implements database elements, queries, and reports needed to monitor complex programs.

Manages department participation in and creates content for outreach services for prospective students.Develops web and print publications in support of outreach services.

Analyzes exception reports to determine necessary changes in programming or procedures.Identifies difficult-to-resolve mismatches and errors from external and internal sources.

Required Qualifications Advanced knowledge of policies, regulations, and practices for awarding financial aid.Working knowledge of packaging policies and practices.

Ability to interpret complex policies and develop procedures to ensure compliance.Organizational and project management skills.

Advanced written and oral communication skills.Advanced proficiency with standard office software.Experience using complex databases.

Strong leadership skills to guide, direct, mentor, evaluate, and motivate staff.Demonstration of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.

The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $80,400 - $112,900.This is a 100% full-time (40 hours per week), career position that is eligible for full UC benefits.
