We are Alpha Supported Living Services, a non-profit organization, we provide residential and community-based services to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Job Summary

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) conducts functional assessments, generates related Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs), and ensures the effective implementation of the PBSP through staff training and consultation.

The BCBA also interacts with program participants and so must be familiar with the Guiding Values issued by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA).

At all times, the BCBA will seek to act in accord with the principles and values expressed and uphold the agency mission.

Day-to-Day

Write Functional Assessments and Positive Behavior Support Plans for each client contracted to receive BCBA funding

Provide training and consultation to staff to ensure effective implementation of plans

Collect and compile data of applicable target and replacement behaviors.

Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of behavioral supports and strategies and modify plans based upon data and observations.

Compile tracking sheets and chart behaviors on a monthly basis to determine any patterns

Provide monthly progress reports for each individual contracted to receive BCBA Services for both internal and external stakeholders

Oversee the submission, approval and implementation of Exceptions to Policy or Rule pertaining to restrictions or those that occur as a result of Positive Behavior Support Plans;

ensure annual renewal, as necessary

Review and revise plans, every 6 months, at a minimum

Collaborate with others to provide comprehensive support services

Be available as a resource to the Clinical team to assist with, consult on, and when time and capacity permit, write Functional Assessments and Positive Behavior Support Plans for other individuals supported by the agency

Provide crisis management, debriefing, and on-the-spot clinical consultation as needed or requested.

Attend individual DDA Assessment (PCSP) Meetings when needed or requested

Collaborate with and provide consultation to others in the client’s support network, including family members, medical professionals, case managers and vocational and educational professionals, when applicable.

Provide input and recommendations on any communication systems implemented

Facilitate classes as needed or assigned; maintain the certification / approvals necessary to facilitate classes on behalf of the agency;

and ensure employees are properly trained to support participant needs

Contract, WAC, RCW, DDA and RCS regulations, guidelines, rules or procedures

Create and maintain related documentation as needed or assigned

Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars; complete individual training requirements annually and maintain certifications and licensures, as required

Attend mandatory training to complete :

First Aid / CPR

Blood borne pathogens

Mandated reporter

Operate a personal and / or agency vehicle on a regular basis; Maintain personal vehicle in a safe operating condition :

Maintain certifications and licenses, as a condition of employment :

Washington State Driver’s license and automobile registration

Automobile insurance that meets Washington State requirements

Maintain CEU requirement and BCBA credential with Behavior Analytic Certification Board (BACB).

Performs other duties as needed assigned on a daily basis

Who we are looking for

Must be currently certified as a BCBA with the Behavior Analytic Certification Board. Individuals who are waiting to take the BACB exam will be considered on an individual basis.

Training and clinical experience in providing applied behavior analysis. Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders preferred.

Analytical skills necessary in order to synthesize a variety of clinical and social data to determine appropriate intervention strategies and monitor effectiveness of treatment said strategies.

Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation;

and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders

Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, ethnicity, cultures and their history and origins

The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem and taking action to notify appropriate personnel

Ability and willingness to learn and use software to create workflow efficiencies and centralize data storage or collection

Able and willing to attend required training classes, agency meetings, seminars or other assigned activities relevant to the agency’s mission

The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing and orally so others will understand

Job Requirements

At least 21 years of age

A Master’s degree

Current BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) certification

At least one year of experience working in social services, preferably in the field of I / DD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities)

A Washington State Driver’s License, current vehicle insurance and able to be covered on Alpha Supported Living Services’ automobile insurance based upon driving record

Background inquiry clearance from an authorized state agency

Benefits :

Benefits for Full-Time Employees (30 hours or more a week) include Medical, Dental, Vision, 403(b) (non-profit version of a 401(k)) with company match, Life Insurance, Tuition Savings Program, and Tuition Reimbursement.

Employees working 34 or more hours a week are eligible for PTO accrual.
