Distributing mediations andassisting with careRoles & Responsibilities
A. Assists in assessing and evaluating the patientsphysical psychosocial environmental spiritual social andeducational needs and documents patient / family responses to nursinginterventions while working collaboratively with themultidisciplinary team to achieve desired patient careoutcomes.
B. Assists in the development and implementationof the plan of care including the discharge plan based on standardsof nursing practice health center policy and patient / family needsusing clinical / critical thinking skills
C. Providesfacilitates and / or implements learning opportunities to meet theeducational needs of patient / family based on the teaching plandeveloped by the registered nurse.
D. Adapts positively tothe everchanging health care environment by supporting technologyand process changes. Willing to learn new things is open to changeand maintain a calm positive manner under stressfulconditions.
E. Effectively communicates pertinent patientchanges / conditions to registered nurse and to multidisciplinarycaregivers.
F. Attends and participates indepartmental / organizational meetings inservices and educationalopportunities. Department meeting attendance requirement : 80% with50% in person if department meetings are available bywebinar.
G. Serves as a steward for the hospitals humanand material resources. Meets productivity expectations ofunit / department as defined by unit manager.
Utilizes and maintainsappropriate supplies in department. Supports staffing needs forpatient care in multiple units as needed while being flexible withschedule and hours.
H. Serves and supports processimprovement teams which influence customer satisfaction clinicaloutcomes and financial stability.
I. Documents patientinformation in the electronic / paper medical record in an accuratetimely manner.
J. Delegates and receives delegationappropriately based on patient needs and the scope ofpractice.
K. Recognizes personal learning and developmentneeds. Participates in developing their yearly performance goals.Creates a plan for professional / personal growth.
L.Maintains required department confidentiality and abides by HIPAAregulations.
M. Provides competent patient care to theabove indicated patient populations by obtaining and appropriatelyinterpreting data making appropriate decisions based ondemonstrated knowledge of agespecific growth and development andappropriately adapting procedures and treatments.
N. Takesan active role in enhancing ability to carry out job functionsthrough personal and professional / jobrelated growth and developmentand participates in medical center and / or departmental educationprograms.
O. Communicates with and performs dutiesfollowing the philosophy of Mercy One North Iowa and the Sisters ofMercy reflecting the organizations Mission Values and CulturalBeliefs.
P. Supports and abides by all medical centerdepartmental and safety policies and procedures. Proactivelyidentifies safety concerns surrounding the workenvironment.
