Job Description / Summary
In keeping with Preferred’ s overarching goal of meeting or exceeding client expectations, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) facilitates the delivery of high quality, integrated, and seamless service delivery to all Outpatient Service Recipients (SRs) within our adult and children programs.
The CMA provides direct care and works as an extension of the medical team to coordinate behavioral, primary, and specialty care.
Responsibilities
- Assists prescribers during outpatient service delivery including psychiatric evaluations and medication management appointments.
- Understands target populations and specialized needs; Develops knowledge and skills appropriate to the target population and necessary completion of responsibilities.
- Takes SRs’ vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, height, weight and body mass index (BMI), waist circumference and documents in electronic record.
- Secures medical records from outside providers by completing releases of information for all prescribers and providers.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Credentialed in NJ as a Certified Medical Assistant.
- experience in behavioral health field a plus.
