About Team : Sam's Tech Member Desk engineering

The Sam's Tech Member Desk engineering team is responsible for building and managing applications and services running at the member services desk across all of US Sam's clubs.

This includes apps to handle membership signups / renewals / upgrades, process returns and purchase of items at the member services desk.

We're looking for a mobile staff engineer / technical lead to design and build new functionality and user experiences to support the Sam's Tech Member Desk applications.

The ideal candidate should be proficient in React Native application development and possess strong project management skills.

Experience in Native iOS / Android or Kotlin Multiplatform is highly desirable.

this role is open for Sunnyvale, CA, Bentonville, AR, or Hoboken, NJ

What you'll do :

• Lead the design and development of mobile applications using React Native , ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Architect mobile solutions to solve large-scale problems, focusing on user experience and operational efficiency.
• You work with your manager, product, operations, and design, to plan, execute, and deliver on sprint, quarterly and project goals.
• You serve as a Subject Matter Expert to provide technical leadership and mentorship to your teammates, other teams, and engineers.
• Translate Figma, Wire frames into mobile solutions for IOS, Android operating systems creating design documents.
• Ensure on-time delivery and collaborate with engineering managers to provide guidance on project implementation plan.

What you'll bring :

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 10+ years of industry experience.
• At least 8 years of experience developing software in an agile team environment.
• Demonstrated experience creating mobile applications using React Native mobile framework.
• Experience in Design, Development, Coding, Testing, and Releasing to QA.
• Experience with monitoring mobile app performance, stability, and success rate and leveraging data to improve the same.
• Improve code quality through writing unit tests, automation, and performing code reviews.
• A strong foundation of software design know-how to create software that’s extensible, reusable, and meets desired architectural objectives.
