What is Runway?
The way we look at financials today hasn't changed in over half a millennium. It doesn't just predate computing, it actually predates the popularization of negative numbers.
Qualifications, skills, and all relevant experience needed for this role can be found in the full description below.
It's time for a rethink.
We're building a consumer-grade social product that reinvents how business financials are presented through modern design and engineering.
By bringing clarity, power, and speed to financial data, we help every team become more aligned on the entire business so they can collaborate to make better decisions, faster.
We’re a small team of successful startup veterans with deep experience in consumer product, social design, and financial operations.
We're supported by a select group of investors that we admire, including Soleio Cuervo (Combine), Andreessen Horowitz, Elad Gil, Naval, Dylan Field (CEO of Figma) and Henry Ward (CEO of Carta).
Working at Runway
We're remote-first, so you can work from anywhere in North America. We strive to be clear in our communication and over-communicate by default.
It’s early in our journey, so you'll have an opportunity to shape not just our product, but the company itself : how we work together, what makes us stand out, and who we hire.
Below are the values we share as a team if these resonate with you, you may enjoy working here. (And if you don't like them, please tell us what we're missing in our thinking!)
What are our values?
Accelerate (Moving Fast, Continuously Improving, Going the Distance)
Create Magic (Build Magical Experiences, Craft Magical Stories, Begin with the Ending)
Invent Together (Active Listening, Invent New Solutions, Disagree and Commit)
Trust by Default (Assume Good Intent, Trust Proactively, Being Trustworthy)
High Standards, Low Egos (Unreasonably High Standards, Humility and Self Awareness, Putting the Team First)
What you’ll do
We're looking for someone who can work across the stack at Runway. In this role, you’ll be responsible for :
Build product : As part of the engineering team, you'll be working closely with the design and the PM teams to plan, architect, and implement our core product.
As an early engineer, you’ll have a prominent voice in all engineering decisions. We’ll iterate as a team on the product experience to get it just right, while also ensuring we’re maintaining the codebase so we can move fast.
Build our technical foundation : Work we do today can make our future work better and faster. Since our product is tackling a complex problem, we’ll need to build a foundation that is flexible and allows us to adapt to a wide variety of product needs.
Grow the team : Everyone on the early team plays an important role in attracting, closing, and growing other talented team members.
The biggest factor in our ability to build amazing products is the team, so we look to you to help set the example for the kind of team we all want to build together.
