Job Description

PSE's Pole Services team is part of the Product Development department which develops new energy products and services to meet customer needs.

The Pole Services group specifically engages with PSE's municipal, telecommunications, and construction development customers interested in street and area lighting, communication joint use, wireless collocation, and other pole-related services.

The Project Manager II role will oversee the project management of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations that will be collocated on PSE's Wood Distribution Poles and Stand-Alone Street Light Poles throughout PSE's territory in Washington State.

This individual ensures customer requirements are met and work is completed to support PSE's business, energy savings, green power, financial goals, and is responsible for ensuring consistent application of PSE standards, processes, and proactively driving continuous improvement activities.

He / she will also participate in cross-functional teams internally and with our customers in both leadership and participant roles to develop appropriate solutions for PSE and customer needs.

The Project Manager II will be responsible for managing material resources for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations, assembling Electric Vehicle Street Light Collocation Construction packages, ability to make sure that sites are ready for construction, identify any make-ready work on existing infrastructure and updating new and existing job aids.

The candidate will also need to have extensive AutoCAD and Field experience.

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and / or field procedures related to work responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • AutoCAD & Field experience.
  • Coordinates resources, provides oversight and direction to team members.
  • Identifies the scope of an assigned project and decides logical action to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Communicate and manage the customer relationship as the primary point of contact.
  • Accurately identify customer needs, set reasonable expectations, identify potential issues and share alternatives.
  • Facilitates communication between service providers and internal customers, which may include technical support at the direction of a senior project manager.
  • Perform effective upfront project planning and advocacy of PSE's operational objectives to minimize costs and change orders, identify risks, and maximize efficiency through negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Validate and refine the scope of an assigned project and decides logical action to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Recognizes technical issues that impact the projects under their leadership, and obtains resources to mitigate project risks.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and design, operation, and maintenance requirements.
  • Applies general rules, standards and guidelines to specific technical problems.
  • Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences, sometimes in public settings.
  • Gathers, consolidates and analyzes facts in relation to project requirements.
  • Responsible for schedule and budget development, management and forecasting.
  • Supports emergency response work as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and / or work experience.
  • At least four years relevant work experience including managing simple projects.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in scheduling, estimating, accounting and finance principles.
  • Basic knowledge in project management discipline to effectively arrange resources and manage multiple simple to medium complexity projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Customer-oriented, a positive, team-oriented and collaborative attitude, flexibility, an understanding of the business issues driving the need for the project, and solid work ethic are expected.

Desired Qualifications

  • General knowledge of project management principles, processes and techniques, applied in a utility setting.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management or related discipline.
  • Experience managing small projects or programs.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and techniques to bring about agreement between divergent points of view. Ability to write clear, concise and direct narrative and reports.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills for single of multiple technical areas.
  • Strong negotiating and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of streetlight construction management, standards, applications and regulations.
  • Knowledge of utility methods, techniques and procedures involved in budgeting, procurement and contract administration.
  • Advanced Project Management Training and Project Management or Construction Management Certification from an accredited institution (PMI or College).
  • Experience with SAP.

The pay range for this position is$76,500.00-$127,200.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
