PSV has an exciting employment opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals! This specific role will be supporting our Ambulatory Surgery Center in our Fairfax, VA location.
This role is working Part-Time Day Shift, 24 hours per week, 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm.

Job Description
- Assess, instruct, and prepare patients for surgery.
- Complete comprehensive health history assessments.
- Verify and ensure that surgical and informed consent forms are accurately signed.
- Take and record vital statistics to confirm patient readiness for the surgical procedure.
- Initiate IVs and provide necessary information to patients about the procedure as directed by the anesthesiologist.
- Monitor and evaluate patients' post-operative condition and vital signs, ensuring they meet discharge criteria.
- Document patient conditions accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Address patient and family questions, ensuring patient comfort and understanding.
- Monitor for changes in patient condition, promptly reporting any significant changes to the physician.
- Perform interventions during post-operative emergencies as needed.
- Monitor vital signs as patients awaken from anesthesia and throughout their stay in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Manage pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms, including side effects of anesthesia.
- Provide comfort to patients who may feel scared or confused after surgery.
- Document and communicate the patient's progress to the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and families on post-surgery care, discharge instructions, and follow-up procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Registered Nurse currently licensed in Virginia
- Graduated from an approved School of Nursing
- Three (3) years Critical Care experience (ER, PACU, PICU, NICU or Peds IMC)
- Current BLS certification
- All employees must pass an employment TB, drug and physical exam
