About The Position
Job Title : Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Specialty : Nuclear Medicine Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Day 5x8-Hour (07 : 00 - 15 : 30) Guaranteed Hours : Client may call off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without compensation for the canceled hours.
Experience : Minimum 1 year experience required License : Active Illinois state license required or must be in the application process with an estimated time of arrival Certifications : NMTCB required Must-Have : Experience in adult hospital settings- Use of Phillips equipment- Skills in specific nuclear medicine procedures Job Description : Perform nuclear medicine procedures such as Gastric Emptying, HIDA Scan, and Muga Scan.
- Execute 3 Phase, Limited, and Whole Body Bone Scans.- Conduct Perfusion for Lung Scans.- Administer Renal Flow / Function procedures including those with Lasix.
- Accomplish Thyroid Study with Uptake Scan.- Execute Tumor Localization, Limited, and Whole Body scans.- Conduct SPECT (Single-Photon Emission CT) for bone scans.
- Manage Myocardial procedures, including Exercise / Rest-Multiple and Exercise / Rest-Single scans, as well as Pharmacological Stress tests.
- Maintain professional knowledge in isolation precautions, initiation, and maintenance of Peripheral IVs.- Manage the storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials.
- Participation in orientation and training as required.This position does not require weekend work, on-call duties, or floating to meet facility needs.
Candidates must discuss time-off requests and any block scheduling with the manager. The hospital is a Magnet facility with a total of 25 staffed beds and uses Cerner for charting.
A flu vaccine is required, with medical and religious exemptions only.
