The Technical Writer performs specialized writing and presentation activities to support new construction project delivery services.
This includes drafting and disseminating technical guides and instructions, preparing and delivering presentations, and organizing and delivering training and development seminars.
KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES
The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative but not all-inclusive :
Primary
- Develop manuals, training packages, instructions, policies and manuals on specific technical subjects (e.g. Building Information Modeling)
- Organize and support the delivery of training seminars and conferences
- Provide support and direction to team members involved in document development
- Prepare various documents (e.g. slide decks) and develop diagrams for technical publications
Other
- Provide advice to subject-matter experts
- Other duties as assigned
SKILLS
General and Specific Knowledge
DCC and / or Client-Partner policies and procedures related to specific technical subjects
Formal Education and / or Certification(s) and Experience
Minimum : university degree in communications or related field that includes technical writing with approximately two years’ relevant experience, or the equivalent
Abilities
- Use applicable computer software and operating systems
- Write effectively and deliver presentations
- Ensure accuracy in written documentation through attention to detail
DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP
Provide functional advice and guidance to employees
