Description :
Under immediate to general supervision and direction, this entry-level position works to achieve initial competencies in delivering specialized cardiovascular and / or radiologic technology services.
The focus is on aiding medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions and diseases.
Utilizes entry-level knowledge, skills, and available resources to provide safe, high-quality, efficient patient-centric care under routine or emergent conditions.
Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians.
Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to achieve desired clinical outcomes and service expectations.
Utilizes highly specialized cardiovascular and / or radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a range of diagnostic, interventional, and / or surgical procedures.
Conducts post-procedure reviews to confirm all required elements are completed and documented.
Transfers images and data to the appropriate archival systems and prepares studies for reporting.
Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and other maintenance per regulatory guidelines.
Participates in continuing education and professional development to maintain competencies and improve care.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required skills include applying principles of cardiovascular and / or radiologic technology, medical imaging, terminology, positioning of patients, and ethics.
The ability to work as part of a team, follow instructions, maintain accurate records, and exercise discretion with confidential information is essential.
Candidates must be able to multi-task, remain calm in stressful situations, and demonstrate attention to detail.
Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology is required, along with the ability to apply theory and practices to perform and analyze study data.
