Platinum Group Metal Services (PGMS) manages, distributes, refines and recycles precious metals and fabricates products using precious metals and related materials.
The business unit also manufactures platinum group metals, minor metal compounds, organometallics and fine metal powders for high technology applications, as well as providing a range of management services for platinum group metals.
PGMS has manufacturing operations in the UK, US and China and sells to key markets globally across Europe, the US and Asia.
Principal accountabilities
Develop and execute the overall project execution plan and work with / coordinate the nominated resources (Multi-discipline teams - MDT) and resource providers to deliver design, procurement, construction, handover and commissioning.
Coordinating the project team (MDT) to achieve scope delivery, project budgets, schedule and project risk to ensure a safe start up.
Preparation of integrated project execution baseline schedules and updating as required through the project lifecycle in line with JM and EPC planning guidelines.
In partnership with JM procurement function, managing contracts including facilitating negotiations with contractors and suppliers, preparation of technical Bid evaluations and commercial bid evaluations. For award.
Identify key resources (internal and External) and work with the Program Manager to define the project structure and solicit all people resources to execute the project.
Plan and monitor the review and approval of key engineering, procurement and construction documents to achieve the baseline schedules.
Where within the knowledge of the PM, undertake the review.
In conjunction with the project controls group, administer robust Project Controls functionality consistent with project size, risks and reporting requirements as per JM requirements ( weekly reports, schedule adherence, and cost forecasts / variances, risk updates, change reports) and pre-read and materials for the monthly Project Review Board.
Develop a project risk management plan and maintain throughout the project. Ensure all known risks are effectively managed, mitigated and communicated to stakeholders.
Production and execution of a plan for change management and configuration management.
Coordination amongst the project leadership team, project staff, operations staff, contractors and suppliers as outlined in the project execution plan.
Review of contractor and suppliers’ Engineering, procurement and construction procedures to meet the project cost, schedule and quality requirements.
Use of JM gated process, and further development and safe implementation of an integrated Construction and Commissioning Plans, including separate readiness reviews for end of design, start of construction, start of commissioning and handover.
Requirements for the role :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
At least 5-10 years’ experience in framing and managing complex contracts involving multiple suppliers and engineering, procurement and construction service contracts.
5-10 years’ experience with accountability for safety critical activities such as Highly Hazardous projects in engineering, construction and or commissioning.
Demonstrated experience in delivering a complex large project in a complex, multi-stakeholder brownfield site with continuously operated process facilities.
Demonstrated experience in working with Business and or Operations and Maintenance staff to ensure Business / operational requirements are defined and met within the available project budget
Experience in managing change within a project context, ensuring appropriate technical reviews to preserve process safety at all times
