About the Role :
As the Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will work on a variety of tasks. Activities include, but are not limited to, directly responsible for providing leadership and oversight within the accounting shared services group.
Specific responsibilities include oversight of accounts payable processing. More specifically, this position will be tasked with driving process improvement and achieving maximum efficiency.
Your Responsibilities :
- Manage, mentor, guide, and challenge accounts payable staff
- Build and maintain a "best in class" system of internal controls and processes. Responsibilities also include ensuring processes are properly mapped and documented in accordance with SEC guidelines established under Sarbanes Oxley legislation
- Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of processing invoices received from all Wabash vendors Responsibilities also include ensuring the payment to vendors is in accordance with contractual terms as well as consistently applying the practices and policies adopted by Wabash
- Assist in the development of Wabash accounting policies and procedures related to areas of responsibility
- Responsible for managing the completion of all payment runs. Responsibilities also include ensuring payment runs are being done efficiently and cost effective (evaluate preferred method and frequency of vendor payments (check, ACH, wire, etc.)
- Manage relationship with outside service providers directly involved in payables / cash disbursements processes
- Assume ownership and oversight of vendor master data files as necessary
- Lead in implementation of system changes and related enhancements impacting Accounts Payable
- Assist with annual 1099 reporting
- Develop and track efficiency and accuracy using Accounts Payable metrics
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, as assigned (including reconciliations / journal entries)
- Other duties as assigned
Let's Talk About Your Qualifications :
- Associates Degree (Preferred Major : Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a leadership role
- Display problem-solving capabilities along with process improvement efforts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with employees and vendors
