Senior Accountant
Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Accountant and play a pivotal role in our financial operations. You will be directly involved in critical month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely accounts payable reporting.
Collaborate across departments to resolve accounting issues and drive improvements. Take ownership of cash entry and accounts payable processes while participating in system improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Month-End Close : Prepare essential month-end close tasks to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Flux Analysis : Prepare month-end Balance Sheet and Income Statement flux analysis
- Reporting & Analysis : Provide monthly management reports and analyses.
- Accounts Payable : Be a backup person for the US Accounts Payable and bill entry.
- Vendor Communication : Address invoice, purchase order, and payment issues with vendors escalated from the AP team.
- Process Improvement : Review and enhance AP processes.
- Reconciliations : Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations for various accounts.
- Cash Entries : Create cash journal entries and assist with bank reconciliations.
- Audit Support : Provide documentation for audits and quarterly reviews.
- Process Documentation : Evaluate, document, and implement process improvements.
Qualifications
Required :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 4-6 years of experience in General Accounting and Accounts Payable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred :
- 2+ years of experience in a rapidly growing tech company.
- Experience with month end close and Accounts Payable processes.
- Proficiency in NetSuite, FloQast or other ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Initial Goals
First 30 Days : Familiarize yourself with the NetSuite environment, natural GL accounts, and month-end close processes.
Learn about the team structure and month-end close process.Learn the purchase order / accounts payable reporting processes.
- First 90 Days : Independently prepare month-end close journal entries for assigned areas and associated reconciliation.
