Job Title : Med TechLocation : Plainsboro, NJDuration : 13 weeksShift : 3pm to 11pm M-F plus every other weekend and holidayJob Description : We are currently seeking a Med Tech Generalist with a strong background in Core Lab and Blood Bank departments, along with some minimal tasks in Microbiology, particularly in molecular testing.

Advance your clinical microbiology laboratory knowledge by applying today!Key Responsibilities : Perform and interpret both basic and advanced technical procedures on clinical specimens, completing necessary quality control activities.

Maintain equipment, reagents, and supplies to ensure quality and accuracy of test procedures, including preventive maintenance and performance checks on departmental equipment.

Identify issues, determine solutions, and resolve problems or refer to appropriate personnel when necessary; interface with staff to assist in problem resolution.

Provide instruction and training to other staff members, including new hires and students.Comply with safety policies and procedures in the work area, including the use of applicable personal protective equipment (PPE).

Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary hospital staff, including medical and nursing personnel, by reporting results, answering technical questions, and addressing logistical matters under the direction of the section supervisor.

Required Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, or laboratory science / medical technology science.Previous experience in a microbiology laboratory.

MT (ASCP or NCA), MLS (ASCP), or previously qualified as a Medical Technologist under 42CFR493.1427 prior to 2 / 28 / 92.

If not ASCP certified, must be eligible to take the exam within 6 months of hire.Proven ability to work with complex automated instrumentation.

Capable of functioning under moderate pressure and in emergency situations, particularly with STAT / RUSH request orders.
