Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights, a multi-specialty practice in a state of the art facility, is currently seeking a full-time Ophthalmologist to join its practice in Downtown Brooklyn!

Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights is a multi-specialty practice in Brooklyn dedicated to providing exceptional whole person healthcare.

The large multispecialty practice is located at 300 Cadman Plaza West, Brooklyn, NY 11201 serving a diverse community. The practice is in the heart of Brooklyn Heights, which is a short walk to DUMBO, downtown Brooklyn, Cobble Hill, and Carrol Gardens offering an endless array of restaurants, nightlife, and shopping.

Brooklyn waterfront provides parks, ball fields, and playgrounds with possibly the greatest view in NYC. Additionally, there are premier school districts, public and private within walking distance of practice, as well as numerous cultural activities such as the Brooklyn Academy of Music and Mark Morris Dance Studio.

Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights offers comprehensive care where patients can see various specialties including allergy, cardiology, gastroenterology, pulmonary, endocrinology, pediatrics, Ob / Gyn, dermatology, urology, renal, all at the same site.

Services offered include on site lab, radiology plus comprehensive Breast Cancer Screening (FNA), ultrasound, X-ray, CT scan, and cardiac testing.

The site has a comprehensive support team, including MAs and LPNs.

The ideal candidates will play an instrumental role in ensuring excellent patient care, quality outcomes, and satisfaction.

In addition, we would like our talented physician candidates to have a passion for outpatient medicine and be fully committed to mission of Mount Sinai Health System.

The chosen candidates will have the opportunity to partner with world renowned, Icahn School of Medicine. Mount Sinai’s Department of Ophthalmology is strongly committed to caring for the whole patient and places special emphasis on providing patient-centered care.

We pursue all dimensions of these three components, considering them inseparable elements of the art and science of medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat wide range of eye diseases and conditions
  • Performing necessary surgical procedures, including examinations both before and after surgery, as well as instructing patient on self-care to improve recovery
  • Provide health education and counseling and establish preventive health practices
  • Initiate laboratory, radiology, and pathology exams and specialty consults as necessary
  • Exercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care and consult with and refer to appropriate specialist in regards to high risk or complex patients
  • Responsible for supervision of optometrists from time to time
  • Fosters a professional, collaborative work environment with all team members and colleagues
  • Provide case management with other health care team members

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree from an Accredited University
  • Ability to obtain a New York license
  • Board Certification or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
  • Active DEA license and BLS and ACLS certification
  • Demonstrated professional competence and integrity and ethical conduct of practice
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, bedside manner and organizational skills
  • Patient focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patients
  • A strong work ethic and desire to participate in team-oriented, performance-driven Health System

Compensation range from 290K to 320K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Mount Sinai Health System provides a salary range to comply with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital / community need.

As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.

The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
