Job Description and Duties

Under general supervision of the Chief of Police at the California Exposition & State Fair, and as a temporary employee, incumbents will perform the duties of an operational Peace Officer Penal Code 830.

2(i) at the annual California Exposition & State Fair as well as all other events held and operated on the facility grounds.

Incumbent will provide and assist in the safety and security of staff, vendors, contractors and the general public through the enforcement of all laws and regulations and to conduct and complete other related duties for the orderly operation of the facility.

Working Conditions

  • Works near fast-moving machinery or traffic.

  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling,bending and lifting.

Special Requirements

The position(s) require(s) a valid California Drivers License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application.

  • The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
  • The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
  • Applicants must possess a valid POST Basic Certificate and / or other government certification recognized by POST and acceptable to the Department to allow the applicant to operate as a solo Peace Officer as authorized under Penal Code.

Be of sound moral and ethical character sufficient to pass a comprehensive background investigation.

Possess adequate physical fitness and health to pass medical clearance examination.
