Job Description :
- Work on a floor with an 18-bed unit specializing in adult / geriatric medical surgical care.
- Maintain patient ratios typically around 1 : 6.
- Utilize equipment such as Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and PCA pumps.
- Employ Cerner Electronic Health Records (EHR) for managing patient information.
- Handle common diagnoses such as COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, end-of-life care / hospice, falls, weakness, sepsis, and infections.
- Float as needed to surgical, neuro, intermediate units for Med Surg level patients.
- Work collaboratively as a team player and demonstrate strong patient advocacy skills in a busy and dynamic environment.
- Required to wear scrubs; any color is acceptable.
- Display leadership and possibly assume charge experience responsibilities if applicable.
This position is an extension with no orientation hours required, and new staff must quickly adapt to the fast-paced environment.
