Location : Naval Air Station Key West, Florida
Pay : $46.63 / hr (Forecaster) | $40.52 / hr (Observer) | Plus $6.25 / hr Health & Welfare (up to 40 hrs / week)
Schedule : Part-time, variable hours (no guaranteed weekly minimum)

About the Position
RedTown Technical Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Weather Forecaster / Observer to provide professional meteorological services at Naval Air Station Key West (NAS Key West) . This role supports U.S. Navy aviation operations through accurate, timely, and mission-focused weather observations and forecasts.

Key Responsibilities
Perform Meteorological Weather Watch duties, including taking, evaluating, recording, encoding, and disseminating surface weather observations (METAR / SPECI).Prepare and issue Terminal Aerodrome Forecasts (TAFs) and DD-175-1 Flight Weather Briefings .Issue and disseminate weather watches, warnings, and advisories .Operate the Pilot-to-Metro Service (PMSV) and disseminate Pilot Reports (PIREPs) .Monitor radar, satellite imagery, and meteorological data for developing conditions.Provide over-the-counter and route briefings to aviation personnel.Compensation Details
Forecaster rate : $46.63 / hourObserver rate : $40.52 / hourHealth & Welfare : $6.25 / hour (up to 40 hours / week)Night and Sunday differential compounded to base payCandidate will be paid at the observer rate during certification and when performing observer-only shiftsMinimum Qualifications
U.S. Citizen and able to obtain / maintain DoD Common Access Card (CAC) eligibility.At least 2 years of aviation forecasting experience with the DoD or other government agency within the past 10 years, including flight weather briefings and unmanned systems familiarity .Prior observation certification with the DoD, FAA, or National Weather Service, plus 2 years of experience taking and disseminating METAR observations.Prior forecaster certification with the DoD or National Weather Service, including 2 years of aviation forecasting experience .Successful completion of a formal DoD or NWS training program for weather observing and forecasting (proof required).Visual acuity correctable to 20 / 20 with glasses or contacts.Proficiency in operating required meteorological and communications systems .Must be fluent in English—spoken and written.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the Navy’s Flight Weather Briefer program.Current or recent (within the past 2 years) active security clearance or Navy CAC .Experience operating the Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) .Work Environment & Conditions
Position is based at NAS Key West , supporting U.S. Navy aviation operations.May work solo shifts in an office environment with exposure to outdoor weather conditions.Variable workload , which may become fast-paced or stressful during severe weather events.May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays .Break area includes access to a refrigerator, microwave, and vending machines.To Apply :
