Medadventures is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team in a skilled nursing facility.
As a COTA, you will assist the Occupational Therapist in providing essential therapy services to help residents regain their independence and improve their quality of life.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about working in geriatric care and rehabilitation. Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in executing treatment plans designed to improve residents’ ability to perform daily activities.
- Implement therapeutic exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques as outlined by the Occupational Therapist.
- Provide encouragement and support to residents during therapy sessions.
- Help track and document patient progress, noting improvements or changes in functional abilities.
- Collaborate with the care team, including physical therapists, nurses, and other staff members, to deliver comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and families on at-home exercises and the use of adaptive equipment.
Qualifications :
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Active COTA license.
- Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
