We are a well- established  building materials company  specializing in  roof trusses, floor trusses, and engineered Outside Sales Representative – Building Materials

$65,000 – $85,000 per year + PTO + Flexible Schedule

Position Overview

We’re seeking a driven Outside Sales Representative to generate and secure building material sales with new and existing customers, driving growth and profitability. This is a high-energy, performance-based role ideal for professionals motivated by results and rewarded for success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote, sell, and secure new customer accounts in assigned territory.
  • Develop strong relationships with contractors and builders.
  • Assist customers with product selection to best meet project needs.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and communicate quotes, pricing, and delivery terms.
  • Estimate materials from blueprints and construction documents.
  • Resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and service issues promptly.
  • Support accounts receivable collections and follow-up.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product lines and market trends.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support company objectives.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in truss sales, contractor sales, or building materials.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, and written instructions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Capable of performing accurate material and pricing calculations.
  • Must pass drug, alcohol, background, and MVR screening.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends.
  • Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Split between indoor and outdoor environments (job sites, offices, yards).
  • Occasional lifting / moving of materials up to 100 lbs.
  • Regular sitting, standing, talking, hearing, and reaching with hands and arms.
