Position : Accountant

Location : Memphis, TN 38117

Hybrid : in office Tues / Wed

Estimated Duration : The client approximates that this project may last up to 5 months. However, there is no guarantee of employment for any length of time.

Pay Rate : $20 / hour

Overview :

This role sits within the Revenue Accounting Group working with hotels in the US. Involves daily balancing for revenue journals and banquet / event analysis.

Reconciliation to point-of-sale statements and correcting entries to balance. Monthly balance sheet preparation and analyzing revenues for reporting and management.

Day to Day Responsibilities :

The team receives reports / extracts / data from either the hotels or from the systems the hotels use, and they balance out the data to produce daily revenue journal entries.

There are some journals that are keyed manually from reports, and others which automatically load and we ensure they are in balance.

Make corrections if anything is not balancing

Correspond with the hotels on anything that the hotels need to provide input on, or that they need to resolve if we cant resolve it ourselves.

Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job

Requirements :

1-2+ years of experience in Accounting

Experience working in General Ledger, not just AP / AR

Excel - Experienced and comfortable with formulas

Plusses :

Hospitality background

Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within hotels and / or accounting
