Job Description
What you will be doing :
- Investigate and manage workers compensation claims inmultiple jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with nursecase managers counsel external vendors and insureds for efficientclaims handling.
- Complete and document initialloss investigations to determine compensability.
- Establish initial and subsequent reserves for anticipatedexposure.
- Review medical bills for causalrelationship to reported claims.
- Liaison withinsureds nurse case managers and counsel to oversee claimmanagement and facilitate return to work.
- Develop and maintain action plans to ensure reserveadequacy and timely resolution of claims.
- Negotiate settlement of claims within designatedauthority.
- Prepare and present claim reviewsummaries for insureds brokers and internal contacts asrequested.
- Participate in discussions withinsureds and counsel on strategies for successful claimclosure.
- Provide guidance and assistance toinsureds and brokers on timely reporting of claims.
- Manage insured onboarding including training on claimsreporting and use of the insured portal.
Experience you will need :
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Professional designation such as CPCU ARM CRM or similarpreferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office andadaptable to learn other software applications.
- Excellent oral and written communicationskills.
- Detail oriented with a high accuracyrate.
- Strong critical thinking andorganizational skills.
- Ability to problemsolveand use good judgment.
- Selfmotivated withexcellent time management skills.
- 5 yearsadjusting workers compensation claims in multiplejurisdictions.
- Experience in NY NJ and PApreferred with NY experience required.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred.
- Construction industry experience preferred.
- 57 years experience as a Workers Comp loss time claimadjuster.
