Description :
The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and closing processes, and maintaining accounts payable documentation.
Additionally, this role will act as a liaison for internal and external audits and manage monthly accounting entries.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word
- Familiarity with Great Plains software and MS Access is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to closing schedules
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to propose and implement corrective actions
- Must possess a collaborative mindset and work effectively as part of a team
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries
- Conduct monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Manage the distribution and review of trial balance reports
- Oversee inventory maintenance
- Administer billing rates
- Compile annual documentation for external audits
- Provide support for other accounting roles as needed
- Undertake special projects and additional duties as required
