About The Position
Weekly Pay Range - $1726 To $1918 Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Job Duration : 99 days Shift : 8 Hour Days Guaranteed Hours : 0 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years in PACU License : Registered Nurse License Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have : - Well-rounded nursing skills - Knowledgeable in rhythm interpretation- Good critical care skills Job Description : Work in the Preoperative and PACU with 10 Preop beds and 4 PACU beds.
Handle Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery.- Maintain Nurse to Patient Ratios : 1 : 1 during admission in Preop or manage up to 5 discharges;
PACU is 1 : 2, 1 : 1 if managing an airway.- Manage common orthopedic cases including hips, knees, shoulders, along with ortho spine, TLIF, hernias, lap chole, OB / GYN procedures, hysteroscopy, hysterectomy, urology, cystoscopy, prostate, and ENT cases.
Use the Meditech EMR system.- Coordinate with the Charge Nurse who covers both PACU and outpatient, typically without a patient assignment.
A coordinator is available as needed.- Handle basic respiratory equipment; patients on vents are sent directly to the ICU.
Conduct strip readings autonomously.
