Position Overview
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement activities of goods and services necessary for the organization to continue exceeding customer expectations.
This role involves managing supplier relationships, leading a team of purchasing, expediting and sourcing staff, and ensuring the timely delivery of quality products.
Working in conjunction with the Director of Supply Chain to achieve Company initiatives and financial objectives as provided by Executive Leadership.
This position shares accountability to meet and exceed the company’s Fill Rate, Turns, and Slow & Obsolete inventory targets.
Responsibilities Include :
- Responsible for a team of Purchasing Agents, Expediters and Sourcing Agents, overseeing the direction, coordination, and purchasing from all vendors within assigned categories.

oAssess, develop and lead a high performing team and drive the team to continuously improve processes and attain higher levels of customer satisfaction while understanding how the group’s performance impacts the company’s bottom line.
oFoster a collaborative and high-performance culture
Develop and Implement Purchasing Strategies :
oCoordinate with Category Managers on new items, vendor issues, and SKU changes. Work closely work Category Manager in evaluating best practices for optimal inventory turns.
oDesign and implement effective purchasing strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
oAnalyze market trends to anticipate supply and price shifts.
oDetermine the appropriate procurement path for items including buying direct vs. transfer and hub / spoke models
Supplier Management :
oDevelop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
oConduct regular performance reviews and audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with standards.
oAddress performance issues with vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery
Inventory Management :
oMonitor inventory levels and coordinate with the logistics team to maintain optimal stock levels.
oMaintain timely and thorough communication with the Distribution Centers leadership on product concerns and needs.
oMaintain and balance inventory levels within the Distribution Centers using on-hand, on-order, and transfer quantities to meet or exceed service levels, fill rates and turns while keeping inventory levels within company required parameters.
oReview and disposition of slow & obsolete (SLOB) inventory.
Budget Management :
oDevelop and manage the procurement budget.
oMonitor expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Process Improvement :
oRecommend and implement processes to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of purchasing operations through identifying, troubleshooting, and managing the day-to-day processes.
oImplement best practices and innovative solutions to improve the procurement function.
Compliance and Reporting :
oEnsure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
oProvide monthly and ad-hoc executive reports / status to Senior Management with use of Excel, PowerPoint and pivot tables.
Additional responsibilities as directed.
The ideal candidate will have :
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing leadership position, preferably in the assigned category
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management and purchasing best practices
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail and organizational skills
- Works well under pressure; ability to meet deadlines and drive results
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Base Pay Range : Up to $120,000 annually
The compensation range reflects the Company’s current grade for this role and reasonable expectation at the time of posting.
We consider a number of factors when making individual compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, and other business factors.
This role may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program.
