Pre-Construction Project Manager

Location : Northern California (Sacramento or Bay area)

Salary Range : $150,000 - $200,000+ (depending on experience)

ParkerBeth is currently recruiting for a Pre-Construction Project Manager for one of the region’s most well-established and rapidly growing civil contractors.

The Role :

As the Pre-Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the entire preconstruction process, from the development of project proposals to overseeing budgets, schedules, and design reviews.

You will work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure that all preconstruction activities align with the overall project goals and requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the preconstruction phase, including project proposals, design input, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and general contractors to ensure smooth transitions from preconstruction to operations.
  • Manage alternative delivery methods, such as design-build and construction management projects.
  • Oversee the handoff of projects from preconstruction to the operations team, ensuring all budgets, estimates, and plans are accurate.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

What You Bring :

  • 5+ years of experience in preconstruction or project management, particularly within the civil construction industry.
  • Strong background in budgeting, scheduling, and proposal development.
  • Experience working with general contractors and managing design-build or alternative delivery projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
