Job Summary :

We are seeking a nurturing and dedicated Infants Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with infants, ensuring their safety, comfort, and developmental growth through engaging activities and attentive care.

Duties

Key Responsibilities :

1. Infant Care and Supervision :

• Provide attentive and compassionate care to infants, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating environment that meets the needs of infants.
• Follow feeding, diapering, and napping schedules in accordance with each infant's individual routine.

2. Developmental Activities :

• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development.
• Engage in activities such as singing, reading, and playing with infants to foster their development.
• Observe and document each infant's progress and milestones.

3. Health and Safety :

• Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper hygiene practices and emergency procedures.
• Monitor infants for signs of illness or distress and report any concerns to the lead teacher or director.
• Administer first aid and CPR when necessary.

4. Communication :

• Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing updates on their child’s day, progress, and any concerns.
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and provide support to families as needed.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure consistency and continuity of care.

5. Classroom Management :

• Organize and maintain the infant classroom, ensuring it is orderly, clean, and equipped with necessary supplies.
• Follow the center's policies and procedures, including those related to discipline, confidentiality, and reporting.
• Support and guide any assistant teachers or aides in the classroom.

6. Professional Development :

• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops as required.

Requirements

Qualifications :

• Education : A minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
• Experience : Previous experience working with infants in a childcare or educational setting.
• Certifications : CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Skills : Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and a nurturing demeanor.
• Other Requirements : Ability to lift and carry infants, sit on the floor, and engage in active play.

Nice To Haves

Working Conditions :

• This position requires working indoors and occasionally outdoors.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical activities such as bending, sitting, and standing for extended periods.

Pay : $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours : Around 16 hours per week (Tue and Thur Only)
