As a Software Engineer in Test at Dolby you will test software that enables the next generation of Dolby technologies.
Essential Job Functions :
- Independently test and deliver innovative Dolby Imaging / Video products.
- Collaborate with software development, product owners and research to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.
- Develop and manage new CI, test infrastructure, test designs and executions to support the strategic imaging technology innovation pipeline across all ecosystems and in all device categories.
- Test emerging imaging technologies to deliver high-quality libraries.
- Develop, document, and maintain test environments and tools.
- Maintain accurate test documentation and code comments.
- Prototype new test vectors, approaches, tools, or methods.
- Provide training and guidance to team members.
- Triage issues, create detailed bug reports and verify bug fixes.
- Generate and analyze test metrics, prepare objective test reports.
- Participate in or lead reviews for requirements, test plans, test design, and code reviews.
- Work effectively in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with technical writers on technical data for publications.
- Promote a positive work environment and effective communication.
- Represent Dolby professionally at trade shows, meetings, and public events.
Requirements :
- Completed Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science and / or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on and / or passion for multimedia / computer vision and 5+ years of experience in software test engineering.
- Proficient coding with Python.
- Experience in the field of computer graphics, computer vision, image processing and / or video processing.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of HDR technologies such as Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG.
- Experience with C++.
- Exposure to Perforce or Git and Jira.
- Knowledge of video technologies, cinema and television production and post-production workflows.
The San Francisco / Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $145,300 - $177,500, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
