The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) is the only committee solely dedicated to electing and supporting Democratic state Attorneys General.

DAGA provides political and policy support to Democratic State Attorneys General in their mission to protect citizens, promote progress, and support civil rights.

Job Summary :

This is an entry-level position with opportunity for advancement.

Duties / Responsibilities :

Manage DAGA's Internship Program

Manage DAGA's intern program, which brings together college students from across the country for a unique Washington DC experience in support of DAGA's mission.

The program runs three cycles a year and places student interns within DAGA departments.

  • Set the schedule for each cycle.
  • Manage recruitment, including posting and interviews, for interns.
  • Coordinate schedule, program, and expectations with department intern managers.
  • Develop and execute programing for the internship cycle.
  • Be a resource for interns and
  • Maintain a DAGA intern alumni network.
  • Provide evaluation and recommendations for the internship program.

Manage DAGA's DC Office

  • Provide daily administrative support to the DAGA office.
  • Manage and facilitate the flow of traffic of guests and staff who come into the DAGA office.
  • Greet guests and support Attorneys General, Attorney General staff, and campaign staff who visit the office.
  • Maintain, track, and order office supplies and resources for DAGA. Includes, but not limited to office equipment, supply room, break area and staff needs.
  • Ensure the office is clean and ready to receive all staff, special guests, and elected officials.
  • Manage relationships with vendors who provide office-related services.
  • Manage booking and use of all DAGA office and conference spaces.
  • Maintain organization of office and supplies
  • Develop and maintain policies for staff use of office, subject to review and approval of the COO / GC.
  • Plan and run office and staff social and teambuilding events.

Support DAGA Recruitment

  • Support HR staff by making pre-screen calls and reference checks of candidates for employment at DAGA.
  • At the direction of the HR Director, identify candidates for recruitment using platforms and networks available to DAGA.

Support DAGA HR Functions

  • Support the HR Department in all activities as needed.
  • Perform projects as assigned by the HR Director.

Qualifications :

  • At least 2 years of experience working in HR or progressive politics. This can include internship experience in Human Resources, politics or a related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good judgment on sensitive matters
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Commitment to DAGA's mission

Compensation Package :

  • $60,000 - $65,000 salary
  • 100% Employer paid national health, dental, and vision insurance

Closing :

  • DAGA's office offers a hybrid work schedule with operating hours between 9 AM - 6 PM Eastern, but extended and nontraditional work hours are required.
  • This position is located in the DAGA offices which are in downtown Washington DC.
