The Mental Health Associate is a vital part of Arbour Hospital's treatment team. This is a full time position with an opportunity to work on the day, evening, or overnight shift.
Our full time positions require employees to work every other weekend and there is a competitive shift differential for the evening, night, and weekend shifts.
As a Mental Health Associate, you will :
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
- Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
- Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
- Assist with patient groups and activities
- Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet their individual needs
- Provide trauma informed and age-specific care
- Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree is preferred
- College students who have obtained or are pursuing their degree in behavioral health, psychology, or human services are preferred
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Impeccable judgment & professionalism
- Ability to maintain composure in a crisis situation
