Position Summary : Hansen is targeting engineers (mechanical) who are independently driven, motivated to excel, analytical, think outside the box, and are excited by change / new opportunities.
This position at Hansen will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and improvement of new and existing products and services.
This role also supports the business to ensure the technical documentation and processes meet the requirements of our engineering standards.
The assignments are project driven with tasks that are technically challenging and educationally stimulating. Assignments are structured so the candidates develop the ability to accept increasing levels of complexity and self-reliance.
Engineers work, lead, and communicate with colleagues, staff, customers, and vendors regarding ideas, drawings, and designs to resolve problems in industrial refrigeration.
Major Areas of Responsibility / Essential Functions :
- Leads the team that delivers new products & enhancements for industrial & some commercial refrigeration systems including valves, sensors & controls (level, gas, pressure, flow, temperature, etc).
- Ensures the quality, performance, manufacturability and financial GM of the product / service deliverables
- Uses advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
- Create detailed designs, models, and assemblies containing proper notations, dimensions, tolerances with corresponding analysis and Critical to Quality parameters (CTQs).
- Able to design, perform, and analyze results from tests and experiments including making recommendations / design updates.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems with test fixtures or product issues stemming from fluid flow control, pressure containment, or mechanical components such as pistons, seals, springs, bolts, and diaphragms using root cause analysis techniques.
- Experience with 2- and 3-Dimensional CAD modelling software (AutoCAD, Solidworks), MS Access, Project, Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using Excel formula functions, creating forms that update linked worksheets, and consolidating worksheets using analysis tools.
- Preferred skills include : Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and the ability to read and use Design and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA and PFMEA).
Education and Experience :
- BS or MS in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Controls Engineering
- Five to ten years of experience in the mechanical engineering role involving electro-mechanical products.
