Role : Business Systems Analyst
Location : Minneapolis, MN
Duration : 12 Month
Position Purpose :
Drive business transformation through business specific platforms as well as participates in the analysis and evaluation of computer systems.
Works with complex information systems and develops or modifies existing systems through analysis of business and user needs.
Key Accountabilities :
- Under supervision, coordinates detailed business requirements while identifying and tracking business systems issues
- Research and document sponsor / stakeholder needs in accordance with Project Life Cycle methodology utilizing reporting tools, requirements gathering methodologies, process models, data models and prototypes
- Analyze findings, make recommendations, and may revise the system logic (based on BSA experience and business requirements)
- Estimate activities required to perform requirements gathering and acceptance testing improving accuracy over time
- Recommend business solutions that satisfy sponsor / stakeholder needs continually exploring and assessing options for value-add for clients
- Liaise between the business users, internal systems team and external vendors, initiating and managing projects, supporting production issues, managing vendor / system releases and actively managing user priorities
- Strong understanding of how the business operates and validate all changes are delivered in high quality and highly justifiable from a time / cost perspective
- Provide thorough analysis of current business workflow and align new strategy to the large user base across different divisions;
influence senior management on project strategy and identify business opportunities
- May complete end user documentation and prepare training material
- Execute and document test plans to ensure quality
Knowledge & Experience :
- 10 years' experience as a business systems analyst
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or other related field
Skills & Competencies :
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills
- Ability to resolve minor conflicts / issues using different tactics for prior to escalation
- Knowledge of cost / benefit analysis, risk assessment and quantification methodologies
- Demonstrated ability in the following methods : interviewing, data modeling, business process modeling, business object modeling and user interface design
- Strong technical background to coordinate platform enhancements with software vendor(s) and internal business partners
- Knowledge of computer software
