What You Will Do

Combine aspects of project / program / product management in a hands-on collaborative champion for a core Viken product line

  • Program management :
  • Participate in strategic planning for a portfolio of related projects aimed at achieving boarder strategic objectives
  • Provide resource identification and management of development team to ensure success across activities within the product line
  • Ensure development projects, changes, and releases occur in conformance with company guidelines / SOPs.
  • Product management :
  • Guide design, development, and production transition of related products within a product line.
  • Translate product requirements into functional specifications.
  • Own and manage risks and maintain risk considerations during all decisions.
  • Manage timeline and strategic prioritization to fast-track development activities
  • Maintain voice of customer throughout the product design process.
  • Responsible for curating comprehensive test plans (with input from core design team).
  • Ensuring resulting verification and validation processes complete, fully documented, and accurate and meet the product specifications
  • Lead product tollgate transitions from concept to production and ensures required inputs and outputs are present
  • Project management :
  • Provide tactical focused management of individual smaller scale projects within a product line
  • Balance various aspects of a project (cost, risk, resources, skill, etc) to identify the optimal solutions
  • Provide clear tracking and status on various activities to the team and upper management
  • Work with manufacturing to provide guidance, training and troubleshooting support during pilot build and beyond.
  • Manage ongoing improvement efforts and sustaining activities for products within the related product line
  • Maintain agile, open, and positive communication across the development and operations teams to serve as the glue of the extended product line teams
  • Leverage standup / huddles as needed to prioritize drive execution on key tasks
  • Foster solution focused collaborative work with a can do attitude
  • Lead recurring status meetings and maintaining organizational trackers for key deliverables and activities
  • Regularly communicate up the chain to higher level management
  • Drive ongoing improvements within the product line based on quality metrics / data from production and field
  • Be the Point person for gathering information, driving issue to root cause, and selecting appropriate actions
  • Gather needed engineering skillsets and other support to drive solutions to completion
  • Prioritize and help drive current improvements to fruition.

Requirements :

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (EE preferred)
  • 5+ years as design, systems, or manufacturing engineer
  • 2+ years in project, product, or program management preferred
  • Experience with ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) or adjacent technology preferred.
