Distinguished Engineers are expected to lead through technical contribution. You will operate as a trusted advisor for our key technologies, platforms and capability domains, creating clear and concise communications, code samples, blog posts and other material to share knowledge both inside and outside the organization.

You will specialize in a particular subject area, but your input and impact will be sought and expected throughout the organization.

The Distinguished Engineer will be a part of the Cloud Safety organization leading modernization efforts while establishing and driving best practices for cloud governance and cloud maturity.

As a Distinguished Engineer, you will provide technical and architectural leadership for our Cloud Safety platforms that are driving maturity and governance across all infrastructure, evaluating 5+ million cloud resources for policy compliance in near real-time.

You will design our platforms to scale and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions. You will collaborate closely with other engineering leaders, guide teams, and play a key role in shaping our technical vision and strategy.

Conduct technical reviews of design, architecture, and code to ensure scalability, security, and performance.Translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersBasic QualificationsBachelor’s DegreeAt least 7 years of experience in software engineering and architecture with use of programming languages (Java, Python, C++, Go)At least 7 years of experience in enterprise architecture and design patternsAt least 5 years of experience with Web technologies (React, TypeScript)At least 5 years of experience with public cloud providers (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure) Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on technical leadership and architecture10+ years of professional experience coding in languages such as Python or Go5+ years of experience building applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS)5+ years of experience in leading complex, high-impact projects and delivering scalable solutionsAWS Certifications Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.
