Full Job Description
This is not a position with UPS Corporate, UPS Warehouse or a driver position. This is a position with The UPS Store, a privately owned franchise and a retail shipping and printing environment.
The Center Associate delivers world-class customer service to all retail customers by receiving and processing packages for courier shipment and operating copiers, printers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices.
The Associate expertly advises our valued customers by supplying accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options and exhibits confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry.
The ideal candidate has previous retail sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a high school diploma or GED (some college course work preferred), a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance.
He or she must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries
- Communicates effectively and continuously practices good listening with customers, co-workers, vendors, and leadership
- Frequently multi-tasks while maintaining extreme attention to detail and high quality control
- Performs other duties as required
- May open and / or close the store and perform end-of-day accounting, etc.
- Helps customers with expert boxing and packaging, selling the appropriate products to ship materials safely and efficiently
- Must enjoy working with all people
- Must be able to arrive to work by 8 : 15am Monday Through Friday and 9 : 15am on Saturday
- Must be able to work as late as 7 : 15pm Monday Through Friday and 4 : 15pm on Saturday
QUALIFICATIONS
- Retail / customer service experience
- Some college course work preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites
- Prompt, reliable, and responsible
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance
- Non-smoking environment
- Able to work collaboratively
- Must be able to type fast and accurately.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to move between two stores during the day.
