Overview
Distribution Center Stockroom Associate at NAPA Auto Parts. This role plays a major part in getting parts from our warehouse / stockroom to our stores and helps ensure customers receive the part(s) they need.
What You'll Be Doing
- Expedite incoming and outgoing freight in the Distribution Center Warehouse. Receive, stock, pull, stage, load and ship freight.
- Process inventory and maximize warehouse space usage.
- Check, verify, load, stock and pull inventory to meet store and customer orders.
- Unpack incoming parts shipments from suppliers.
- Pull all orders for standard customer stock orders, special orders, and the demands of the main counter and will-call, ensuring accuracy and routing products appropriately to meet picking quotas.
- Use electronic scan-gun, review outbound orders for pulling accuracy, ensure safe packing for shipment, and label shipping trays / packages according to DOT standards and hazardous material regulations.
- Clean up and dispose of boxes, packing material, pallets; maintain general housekeeping of facility and product line areas. Follow safety rules including handling hazardous materials. Load customer orders into delivery trucks in proper sequence.
- Perform daily inspections of motorized and manual equipment (lift gate, pallet jack, hand truck, RF scanners, printers).
- Operate warehouse machinery per safety procedures to maintain stock.
- Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
What You'll Need
Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment. RF scanning experience is a plus but not required.Ability to lift / move parts up to 75 pounds and push / pull up to 300 pounds using appropriate aids.Ability to move heavy equipment with moving aids such as hand trucks, dollies, pallet jacks, etc.Ability to reach upper shelves (up to 8 feet) and bend / squat as needed, with or without stool / ladder.Capable of recognizing part numbers and line codes for proper placement and identification.Basic computer terminal skills; ability to read and understand written / verbal instructions and communicate with team members.Ability to work at a quick pace, bend, twist, push / pull, and maintain safety standards. Position offers an hourly pay of $21. Pay progression is available for many hourly roles; top end achieved within about 12 months based on performance and qualifications. Starting rates for other positions are determined by skills and experience. Eligible employees receive comprehensive benefits as listed above.
