Run ERP reports for purchasing requirements, specifically utilizing MRP and perform analysis to support purchasing decisions.
Identify and collect information necessary to recognize potential issues ahead of time to eliminate backorders and avoid production delays due to lack of purchased components.
Issue and enter purchase orders for required materials / services on a regular basis. Manage returns and complaints with suppliers.
Take initiative proactively to investigate any and all options for resolving purchasing issues across departments, including alternate sourcing, expedited deliveries, and stocking programs on standard items.
- Review open purchase orders to identify past due orders and take appropriate actions. Communicate with applicable team members about issues related to vendors and supplies.
- Maintain PO dates in ERP per supplier order acknowledgements and ensure they are received in a timely manner.
- Prepare reports for management as required.
- Develop and document best practices.
- Perform other duties as directed or required.
- Work with Global Purchasing to achieve cost savings goals and targets.
- High School Diploma or equivalentRequired
- Bachelors degree in Supply chain or related field
- 1-3 years of direct and relevant manufacturing procurement experience Preferred
- 1-3 years experience with standard software packages (i.e. Microsoft Office) to analyze data and offer solutions
- 1-3 years experience with MES systems and ERP related software
- Ability to follow / interpret verbal, written, oral, diagram and / or schedule form instructions
- Ability to read reports and generate reports on productivity and efficiency
- Ability to be highly attentive to detail and consistency
- Strong ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions, drawings or blueprints.
- Must be self-motivated and have effective communications skills both written and verbal to interface with employees at all levels in the organization
- Must have proficiency with word and spreadsheet applications and computer operating system.
- Ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously and ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (SAP, QAD, Oracle, etc.) is a plus.
