Join our Environment and Health department as our new Managing Consultant to address our client’s various ecological, environmental and health needs and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.

Your new role

Ramboll is a leading scientific environmental consulting firm providing a broad range of technical services to both public and private sector clients.

We are seeking motivated and qualified candidates to join our team in Portland, Maine as an environmental Managing Consultant and project manager with experience in data analytics.

Our team of environmental consultants supports clients with a wide range of environmental issues, including management of contaminated sites, source identification and litigation support.

This position also includes monitoring and interpreting research and developments regarding emerging contaminants, including PFAS, to ensure Ramboll remains a leader in assisting our clients address emerging contaminants issues.

Your key responsibilities will be :

  • Database development and management, data analysis and visualization, data analytics and R code development
  • Statistical analyses
  • Assisting with chemical forensics evaluations
  • Managing quality assurance / quality control
  • Project Management

Extra emphasis will be placed on candidates with these skill sets with emerging contaminants, such as PFAS, experience.

Practice or specialty areas may include :

  • Statistical Analyses, including multivariate statistics, machine learning and other advanced statistics
  • Environmental Forensics (e.g., chemical fingerprinting, reconstruction of historical operations and releases, fate and transport analyses)

About you

These include :

Bachelor’s degree in relevant science or engineering discipline (e.g., ecological, environmental) with an emphasis in data science.

M.S., or Ph.D. is preferred.

  • At least 7-10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in environmental chemistry, chemical fate and transport is a plus
  • Experience with statistical programs such as R, including code / script development
  • Evaluation and visualization of environmental, ecological or health data, and statistical and spatial analyses
  • Experience in preparation of reports and other written communications
  • Evaluation of technical documents (e.g., scientific articles, regulations, expert reports)
  • Experience managing consulting assignments, must work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, is expected to be proficient in the analysis and communication of information, and must be able to work cooperatively with agencies, organizations, and individuals to guide decision-making
  • The successful candidate also is expected to be proficient in all facets of project management
  • He / she must demonstrate a commitment to mentoring and developing staff and collaboration with colleagues throughout the Practice
  • Proactive and advanced critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written / verbal communication and organization skills
  • Willingness to travel locally / regionally.
