Jr Network Administrator

TheJr Network Administrator role is responsible for administration, configuration, and support of enterprise network infrastructure for McLeod Software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the configuration and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VOIP, and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance, analyze network traffic patterns, and assist in troubleshooting issues to ensure optimal operation and uptime.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems, and access controls.
• Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, including resolving network and phone related issues, configuring network and VOIP devices, and troubleshooting connectivity problems.
• Assist in the documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity of operations.
• Collaborate with other IT staff to support the implementation of new technologies, projects, and initiatives.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in network administration to enhance skills and knowledge.

Competencies

• Associates degree or equivalent experience required.
• Basic knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including TCP / IP, VLANs, routing protocols, and VPNs.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, PingPlotter).
• Familiarity with Palo Alto, VMWare, DHCP, DNS, cloud-based technologies a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of network administration.
• A+, Network+ or related certifications is a plus.
