Job Summary :
As a Construction Project Engineer , you will provide technical and administrative support to the project management team throughout all phases of commercial construction projects.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of projects by assisting with scheduling, coordination, and project documentation, while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the project manager in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of commercial construction projects from start to finish.
- Prepare and review project documents, including submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders.
- Maintain and update project schedules, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are met.
- Track and manage project costs, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring that projects remain within budgetary constraints.
- Support the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to the job site.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure smooth and efficient workflow on the job site.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Assist in resolving construction challenges by working closely with the project manager, superintendent, and design team.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, regulations, and company safety policies.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, meeting minutes, and project logs.
- Participate in project meetings, providing updates and addressing concerns as needed.
Qualifications :
- 2+ years of experience as a project engineer or in a similar role, preferably with a focus on commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials in commercial settings.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to project management.
- Knowledge of local and state building codes and regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
