Northern Iron and Machine is looking for a Production Manager.

Northern Iron and Machine is a leading iron foundry known for our commitment to quality and innovation in metal casting. With over a century of experience, we specialize in producing high-quality iron castings for various industries.

Our team is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of production and operational excellence.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in foundry or metal casting operations, with a proven track record of managing production processes, ensuring quality control, and leading a team of skilled workers.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can optimize production efficiency, maintain safety standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

Oversee all aspects of the production process, from raw material intake to finished product shipment.

Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize workflow.

Ensure that all products meet quality standards and specifications.

Manage and mentor a team of production staff, including supervisors, machine operators, and maintenance personnel.

Monitor production metrics and KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

Collaborate with the engineering and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.

Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by enforcing company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.

Manage inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure the availability of necessary materials.

Work with Human Resources to recruit, hire and handle employee problems / discipline when needed.

Prepare and manage the production budget, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field (preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role within a foundry or metal casting environment.

Strong knowledge of metal casting processes, materials, and equipment.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing production challenges.

Strong understanding of quality control principles and practices.

Proficiency in production management software and tools.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Salary : $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
