Patient Access Representative II - OB
Pay Range : $ 20.26 / hr - $ 23.81 / hr - $ 27.35 / hr
Please note, the highest starting rate as a new hire is $23.81 / hr, based on applicable experience
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Patient Access Representative II OB is assigned to the Mother & Baby Care Center and is responsible to accurately collect and analyze all required demographic, insurance, financial and clinical data elements necessary to register patients presenting for care.
In addition, this position is responsible for numerous quality control tasks that must be completed with limited supervision.
This position is responsible for the provision of routine and advanced level patient access activities to facilitate efficient operations, expeditious reimbursement and optimal consumer satisfaction and to promote teamwork.
This position is responsible to consistently demonstrate the core values of Enloe Medical Center. This position is responsible to perform their duties in accordance with regulatory compliance requirements and the Medical Center's Code of Conduct.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE :
Must meet one of the following :
Competency as a Patient Access Representative I at Enloe Medical Center
Six months Patient Access / Registration or billing experience
Two years hospital Unit Secretary experience
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES :
This position interfaces with all levels of personnel within the hospital or clinic setting. Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
Must be personally motivated to maintain productivity levels in a work area with dynamic patient volumes. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / Outlook).
Must demonstrate positive, professional and effective interpersonal relations with patients, public, physicians, and staff and demonstrate the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Must demonstrate the ability to communicate with patients and families during time of emotional and physical stress. Must demonstrate sensitivity and compassion for the hospitalized patient and family.
Must demonstrate the ability to expedite registration activities to support clinical operational needs in emergent situations.
Must maintain all protected patient information in strict confidence. Must demonstrate high ethical standards and comply with applicable State and Federal regulatory requirements.
Must demonstrate competency in performance of their job duties in accordance with department standards. Must demonstrate the ability to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment.
Must demonstrate the ability to organize and prioritize assignments. Must demonstrate reliability and dependability by reporting to work as scheduled.
Must demonstrate the ability to work under conditions of frequent interruptions and willingness to be flexible and adapt to change.
