Vice Chancellor For Academic Affairs & Provost
Louisiana State University Eunice invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Provost. The Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Provost (VCAA & Provost) is the Chief Academic Officer of the university and holds administrative responsibility for all academic departments, academic programs, and academic support services. This individual provides oversight to both traditional academic and workforce education programs. The VCAA & Provost reports to the Chancellor of LSU Eunice and serves on the Chancellor's Cabinet.
40% Act as the primary academic leader for the campus, reporting directly to the Chancellor, and represent the Chancellor's office in her or his absence. Effectively represent the university and collaborate with a diverse range of external stakeholders, including the LA Board of Regents, LSU system, regional educational institutions, and key donors, while acting as a strong advocate for faculty, staff, student, and program needs.
20% Provide leadership and oversight for all academic affairs, including the quality of academic and workforce programs, faculty performance and support, and strategic planning for academic and student success. Oversee all matters involving faculty, holding final responsibility for recommendations concerning faculty appointments, tenure, promotions, leaves, and sabbaticals.
20% Lead strategic planning efforts for academic and student success, ensuring alignment with the university's overarching strategic goals, particularly in fostering a transformative approach. Provide oversight for SACSCOC and professional program accreditation, and actively support educational technology initiatives, online learning and advancements in teaching and learning applications.
15% Lead strategic planning efforts for academic and student success, ensuring alignment with the university's overarching strategic goals, particularly in fostering a transformative approach. 5% Offer expertise in budget planning and management for academic affairs, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support institutional goals and effectively disseminate financial information to faculty members.
Minimum Qualifications :
Master's Degree with 5 or more years management or leadership experience at or above the Director / Dean level.
Preferred Qualifications :
Ph.D. or ED.D. with 7 + years of experience.
Specific Experience : The successful candidate shall normally possess a terminal degree from an accredited institution and a record of academic achievement commensurate with appointment to the rank of full professor with tenure in a discipline offered at LSU Eunice. A strong record of administrative experience, including proven dynamic visionary leadership and innovation regarding major issues, challenges, and future directions in higher education is desired.
Special and / or Physical Qualifications :
demonstrates success in educational and administrative leadership and is able to communicate effectively across all disciplines and constituencies; is experienced working with academic deans and faculty members on all aspects of program improvement, governance, and professional development; has a proven track record of resource development as well as successful implementation of student-centered programs, projects, and activities; holds strong familiarity of online education and certificate programs; has a capacity for creative and innovative leadership in finding solutions and affecting positive change; fosters inclusion and is able to work with diverse body of students, faculty, and staff; values community and actively engages in a variety of leadership roles that promote the organization and contribute to the development of the broader community; has proven experience with accreditation and reaffirmation; is experienced in policy interpretation, development, and implementation; holds strong consultation and mediation skills; is experienced with developing and implementing a strategic plan has an understanding of budgeting processes in a two year university and can disseminate financial information to faculty who do not normally engage with university finances.
Salary : $110,000.00-$140,000.00
