What Your Job Will Be Like :

We are seeking a Year Round - Technical Undergraduate Intern to join our dynamic team!

On any given day, you may be called on to assist and learn from senior staff how to :

Implement collaborative expertise to design, deploy, operate, maintain, and solve all enterprise network problems relating to network services and traffic controls.

Work with SNL Corporate networks, remote SNL and business partner networks, and emerging purpose-built enclaves.

Partner with Cyber Security and Networking teams to architect and engineer custom design network flow and behavior solutions.

Troubleshoot and identify workflow, traffic, and service impacts.

Work on Automation and Software Development

Our pay structure is based on earned credit hours, classification, and degree level. Your pay rate will be determined during the hire process and included in your offer package.

Qualifications We Require :

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements :

Currently attending and enrolled full time in a related accredited undergraduate program

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 / 4.0

Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer

U.S. citizenship

Qualifications We Desire :

Work with senior staff to learn about designing, documenting, implementing, troubleshooting and managing enterprise network infrastructures

Understanding of one or more computer science languages (Python, Ansible, C++, Java)

Knowledge of network communication protocols, such as TCP / IP, HTTPS, IPSec, SNMP, and other related protocols

Understanding of automation

Security Clearance :

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment / education verifications.

Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
