Compliance plays a critical role in the successful execution of the firm's mission. The Compliance function supports the development and maintenance of a strong regulatory compliance culture by working closely with the Business, Legal, Risk, Controls, and Audit functions to provide expertise on regulatory compliance matters.

The Compliance function develops and maintains practices to identify, measure, manage, and remediate regulatory related risks, monitors and tests the operating effectiveness of the Firm's Compliance Core Practices.

This role supports the CCB Corporate Functions and Operations Compliance team for the effective execution of the firm-wide Compliance Program.

The candidate will provide Compliance advice and oversight of in alignment with Compliance Core Practices : Governance and Oversight, Regulatory Management, Policies and Procedures, Training and Awareness, Monitoring and Testing (inclusive of metrics), Issue Management, Risk Assessment and Reporting.

Job Responsibilities :

Lead a team in assisting in the execution of a complex Compliance program to manage regulatory exposure in a highly regulated area of the firm.

The role will be responsible for supporting Compliance oversight of Regulatory Operations within Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) Operations.

  • Stay abreast of rules and regulations related to Banking operations, including Consumer Feedback and Communication Services, Executive Office, Unclaimed Property, and Governance to identify potential areas of Compliance risk.
  • Provide critical and analytical thinking in the assessment of risk, creation and execution of end-to-end monitoring and testing to identify Compliance risks, provide guidance and escalate as necessary.
  • Assess compliance impact of new or enhanced products as they are reviewed through formal governance functions.
  • Build dynamic relationships with associated business partners, legal, control, audit and risk functions.
  • Ability to assess and aggregate risks across different lines of business and present results to relevant stakeholders in Compliance and the business.
  • Have the ability to work both independently and as a core team member, exhibiting strong relationship management and negotiation skills.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experienced professional with a strong background in Compliance, audit, controls or regulatory..
  • Working knowledge of rules and regulations related to Banking operations.
  • Bachelor's degree, Legal degree or comparable work experience required.
  • Excellent decision maker with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written and attention to detail required.
  • Incumbents typically have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Banking, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Control or Audit.
