Job Summary :

CNPC USA is actively seeking creative, innovative, best-in-class experts to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Sr.

Electrical Engineer. As a member of the technical staff the Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design of new electronic products up to full production.

This includes specification reviews, development program timelines and reports, design reviews, simple mechanical designs, documentation packages, preproduction builds and transfer to production.

In this role, you will be actively involved in engineering projects to develop cutting edge technology that serves a broad portfolio of applications.

The Sr. Electrical Engineer reports directly to the Measurement Lead, and indirectly to the Director of Drilling.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for develop every aspect of the electronics for downhole ranging from the high sensitivity sensors to the system's firmware, and from the actuators, controls and power supply to the signal digitalization.
  • Utilizing your knowledge and experience of developing, detail-engineering and testing comparable tools and systems for ultra HTHP environments.
  • Document technical data generated and be consistent with engineering policies and procedure.
  • Confer with Engineers, Customers, and others to discuss existing or potential Engineering projects and products.
  • Design, implement, maintain and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products and systems for commercial purpose.
  • Direct and coordinate testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and customer requirements.
  • Function as an independent resource and technical support contact when appropriate.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
  • Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Writes manufacture and test procedures and reports.
  • Participates in project teams and all activities related to the development of new products.
  • Conduct all business activities in agreement with CNPC USA core values.

Key Skills :

  • Candidate is expected to have proficiency with Schematic / PCB Design Tools, Altium Designer preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience with high temperature downhole electronics design, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and troubleshooting.
  • Significant experience with Firmware design and FPGA design required.
  • Hands on electronics prototype design and testing including proficiency with test equipment.
  • Knowledge of downhole electronics design rules for analog, digital, and mixed circuit design.
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing schedules and deadlines based on priorities.
  • Effective time management, organizational, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver results on time, on target with quality and sustainability.
  • Self-starter and team player with ability to work independently when needed.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications :

Master’s degree in electrical engineering, physics or related field, minimum of ten years of hands on experience in high-temperature downhole tool electronics, electronics design including component selection, schematics, and PCB layout.

Must be eligible to work in the United States of America.

Work Environment :

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands :

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role;

however, some filing and the ability to lift 20lbs and bend is required.

Travel :

This position requires some overnight international and domestic travel. Local travel between other CNPC USA locations and testing facilities is required.

Supervisory Responsibility :

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
