Our Structural Engineers are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard structural engineering techniques and procedures.
This includes standard design of civil / structural project work, assisting lead engineers with various project duties, and other duties as assigned.
Design, procurement, and construction of structural related components of power-generating facilities. Design work will include both the construction of the new generation facilities and improvements and / or expansion of existing facilities.
Some specific tasks of a structural engineer include but are not limited to :
- Building, utility rack, and equipment support structure design for electric generating facilities.
- Foundation analysis & design for equipment, buildings, and other structures.
- Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Structural Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program required.
- Bachelor Degree in Structural or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam required.
- Prior internship and / or related consulting experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge in standard structural engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
- Basic computer skills include structural analysis programs (e.g., RISA), AutoCAD and BIM (e.g., Revit and Tekla).
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred.
