Senior Software Developer (.Net / SQL)

Dot Net (C#) / SQL senior software developer with financial services exposure needed to join the development team for a large hedge fund located in Stamford, CT.
Reports to : Chief Technology Officer
Primary Responsibilities :
- Utilize established development tools, guidelines and conventions including but not limited to Visual Studio, SQL Server, and C#
- Create and deliver data-driven reports
- Design, code and test new Windows and web software applications
- Enhance existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing an action plan and identifying areas for modification and improvement
- Maintain existing software systems by identifying and correcting software defects
- Investigate and develop skills in new technologies
- Consult closely with management and occasionally agency staff related to projects and tasks
- Consult colleagues concerning maintenance and performance of software systems
- Implement new software
Skills / Attributes Required
- 5+ years of Senior Developer experience a must.
- Financial Services exposure is a must, with sound knowledge of Fixed & Floating Income Instruments, and their math, as well as Equities.
- 5+ Dot.NET (C#) development experience as a lead developer a must.
- 5+ years working with SQL Server (2012+ preferred) a must.
- Exposure to Corporate Loans, Bank Debt and CLOs a definite plus.
- Exposure to Wall Street Office and Allvue / Black Mountain Systems’ Everest suite of products a definite plus.
- Report writing experience a must.
- Deep knowledge of the .NET Framework, including Visual Studio, C#, WinForms and additionally, ASP.NET, JavaScript frameworks and other web technologies.
- Strong knowledge of software implementation best practices.
- Ability to design and optimize SQL Server stored procedures.
- Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment.
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software is necessary.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player and exhibit exceptional relationship management skills.
- Passionate about building high-quality systems with software implementation best practices while leading and mentoring a team of developers.
Education :
- Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related area is preferred.
- Microsoft certifications are a plus.
