Position Summary

This is an exciting career opportunity supporting a key enterprise initiative with state-of-the-art technology with Chatbots and AI.

The Aetna IT Delivery organization, within CVS Health’s Data, Digital, Analytics, Technology (DDAT) organization is looking to hire a Principal Software Development Engineer - Technical Lead.

This role will be advising a team developing critical applications in the healthcare industry. More specifically, the Technical Lead will be a vital contributor in designing and developing new applications and enhancing existing applications.

Core Responsibilities :

• Design and develop world-class cognitive enabled conversation solutions using leading AI technologies.
• Define low-level requirements, communicating solution design decisions and implementation details to staff developers.
• Embody deep technical expertise and thought leadership that will help accelerate adoption of conversational solutions.
• Act as lead technical contributor of business requirements to technical specifications.
• Understand product requirements in Agile Features and assist the delivery teams with writing and breaking down Agile Stories and Tasks.
• Oversee daily operations of multiple delivery teams and verify adherence to best-practices.
• Identify scope for testing, including performance, security, and accessibility testing.
• Support the implementation of systems into production with limited direction.
• Identify and escalate issues blocking delivery.
• Manage Code Asset Management for applications and promote reuse of assets across the organization.
• Lead or function as a subject matter expert for the assigned project.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Effectively partner and navigate cross-functional teams to drive key initiatives and projects.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices.

Required Qualifications :

• 5+ years of experience as a Principal Software Development Engineer or similar delivery leadership role.
• 5+ years of API rules and integration tools such as Postman or Swagger.
• 5+ years of experience deploying applications to the cloud.
• 5+ years of experience with open-source automation servers.
• 2+ years of experience building conversational AI chatbots from scratch.
• Understanding of data security practices and experience working in a regulatory environment.

Preferred Requirements :

• Presentation and public speaking experience.
• Analytical skills to interpret data sets and solve complex technical issues.
• Knowledge of IBM Watson and other chatbot development platforms.

Education :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent experience.

Pay Range :

The typical pay range for this role is $144,200.00 - $288,400.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
